Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band did sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.

The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their previous albums, and was criticised for its lack of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group and the band held auditions for the new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the band. The band dug through old recordings and tapes to create the special record. The album was well-received by fans and Toto embarked on an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

Shem von Schröck took over Leland Sklar as drummer on the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.
